Fuck assimilation.
Fuck Gay Inc.
Fuck your sponsored pride march.
Fuck your whitewashing of Stonewall.
We want revenge, we want revolution.Fuck gender neutral bathrooms in government buildings that uphold oppressive systems.
Fuck recognition of our genders by the state.
Fuck ‘trans friendly’ cops. All cops are bastards.
Fuck trans-positive advertising by companies that exploit us.
Fuck trans celebrities that play poster child for politicians.
Fuck capitalism and the state trying to make a nice liberal safe trans movement out of our community.
One solution: revolution.
What EXACTLY do you mean by revolution?
I mean the complete dissolution of the state, prisons, the police, the military, borders, capitalism, patriarchy, cissexism, ableism, white supremacy and all other oppressive systems & the creation of self ruled anarchist communities that celebrate human diversity and work together on a ‘work according to your ability, receive according to your need’ basis.
I have reading lists if you’re interested in learning more. Maybe start here.
Some of you may wonder what this has to do with the struggles of trans people. The answer is: everything.
A society always shows its worth by how it treats it’s most marginalized. Trans people have long been among those most marginalized and as a result knew exactly how rotten the whole damn system is and knew the system had to go.
Now, like the gay rights movement before them, trans people in many countries are given some basic rights, some basic protection from the worst the system has to offer, and are beginning to forget.
Now, the most privileged segment of trans people are offered a safe respectable way out of marginalization at the expense of leaving behind everyone else to rot and accepting that the system itself will remain.
This is a mistake. This is a bribe. We must resist this at every turn. Assimilation is
a surrender of everything we once fought for. No one is free unless all of us are free. To achieve that, the whole system has to go.
no offense or anything but how do you suggest i avoid getting killed for going in a non-gender neutral bathroom or is that just like. youre saying “protect trans people” but im not seeing it. i dont have time for Radical Praxis im just trying to avoid getting killed.. sorry about that i guess
Oh what a fucking strawman.
I’m saying don’t celebrate gender neutral in government buildings that uphold oppressive systems because you are celebrating the illusion of safety inside a building where people’s deaths get engineered every day.
I’m saying don’t praise a murderous system because they’re creating token safety for a few people while continuing to do the same shit they’ve always done.
I’m saying don’t let little symbols of acceptance distract you from the fact that the state is offering you breadcrumbs that may keep you alive today but they are simultaneously stealing all the bread that should be yours.
A gender neutral bathroom in a government building is a breadcrumb keeping some of us alive inside a well-organized killing machine, nothing more. Don’t get distracted by it. Fight for the whole fucking loaf of bread.
so basically you’re saying i SHOULDNT give a fuck about surviving right now. gotcha. thats all i wanted to know. are you trans? i gotta wonder.
You wanna protect trans people who gotta pee? Create apps that localize safe toilets. Build your own safe bathrooms. Talk with your neighbours about gender neutral bathrooms in your neighbourhood, talk with your classmates about gender neutral bathrooms in your schools. Organize to meet your needs together. There are a billion ways to do that without the state, all of them more effective, more real and more likely to be a starting point towards real change.
Now I am not saying this is what you, an individual trans people trying to survive, should do. I’m saying this is what trans movements should collectively put their energy into instead of cheering on capitalist politicians who want to win progressive votes one bathroom stall in an ivory tower at a time. We are losing the best of our activists and our energy on political prestige projects that change nothing on the ground.
And hey, I get it. Assimilation politics offers a really persuasive lie: “just give up all resistance to our oppressive systems and we will give you just enough to stay alive. Not all of you. The poor trans people, undocumented trans people, black transpeople, trans sex workers and more will all continue to die. But the trans people we have chosen to assimilate will get relative safety. So just leave them behind.”
But the thing is: it is a lie. There is nothing they can give you that will keep you alive the way a strong trans community that leaves no one behind can. There is no safety they can offer that will not be a constant bribe to keep being obedient so you’ll stay alive. It’s a trap.
are you from Berkeley or an equally liberal area? Just wondering. How the fuck do you suggest trans people in rural bible belt areas (like me) become some kind of revolutionary presence when we’re just trying to keep people from physically attacking us in our day to day life? Your “”“revolution”“” lacks realism. We are searching for any scrap of power we can get. And right now your “"revolutionary fervor”“ does nothing for me. Empty words don’t do shit. call me when youve “gotten rid of capitalism” because right now im just trying to fucking pee without dying.
also “you an individual trans people” ok so youre not trans yourself. Got it.
I am trans and I am not playing the ‘who is more privileged’ game.
But more to the point: this line of reasoning makes no sense.
Organizing gender neutral bathrooms in government buildings takes educated trans lobbyists who can play the respectability game, it takes political sway, it takes politicians on your side, it takes huge amounts of people, time, money and effort put into winning the sympathy of people in power. And the results are…
gender neutral bathrooms in government buildings that are super unsafe to be in in any other respect.
Organizing an anarchist community that takes care of each other based on solidarity, mutual aid and leave-no-one-behind takes a hand full of people willing to start working together on truly making each other safer. And the results in amount of safety (and all those other things that keep us alive) for every individual participant are so much bigger than a bathroom in a dangerous building.
If you live in a hellscape where you are just trying to keep people from physically attacking you in your day to day life, putting time and energy into a few gender neutral bathrooms instead of into communities of mutual aid and resistance is massively counter productive.

Oh, and by the way. I’m gonna stop replying to you. You’re accusing me of random shit, using empty emotional ‘so you want me to die’ arguments that make no sense and not bothering to even understand what anarchist organizing means. You’re constantly making it clear that you are not interested in understanding my point of view so I’m not interested in exhausting myself any further. Bye
