radicalizing young queer liberals is important and not as hard as it sounds. its a slow process of showing solidarity & mutual aid, validating their rage at our predicament while expressing your own, & exposing them to our analyses & praxis over time so they have enough understanding to come to their conclusion, but i am honestly astounded at how frequently ive watched it happen.
when you make solidarity & mutual aid real for someone in a similar position to you, when you share the emotions and tendencies from which that solidarity arose, its hard for them to not take a closer look at the liberalism they were raised on
This. Also a fundamental part is giving young inexperienced queers the opportunity to be a part of organizing, planning, public speaking and all the things that make activism tick.
Radical awareness comes not so much from theory but far more from experiencing first hand that mutual aid is better and safer than stae sanctioned aid and policing, and experiencing first hand that you have the power to change things and it doesn’t take any exceptional skill to do it.
