2015 me: *sees bigoted comments on my posts* I am going to rationally debate with this person and change them through the power of reason. Or at the very least look like I’ve won the debate.
2017 me: *sees bigoted comments on my posts* I am not going to waste my energy on people who go out of their way to spread this vile shit. If they’re particularily bad I’m not even going to give them an extra audience by reblogging their post to comment. I’m just gonna block them. I am going to use my experience with these shits to educate and arm other people about how to deal with these shits. And I’m going to carry on building movements, exchanging ideas and working out strategies with people who actually want to change the world in roughly the same ways I want to change it.
