omg i just had a really big realisation……. people antagonise aces for apparently demonising people having sex… yet, these same people literally have demonised aromantic people for not always being asexual, like……… it’s really apperant at this point they are not sincere and that they really just want any excuse possible to antagonise any aro or ace person lmao,,,,

“aromantic people” Ive literally never seen anyone but het aro men be demonized or whatever and really given how violently misogynistic het men are about causal sex women are allowed to be wary of men who only want that from women. Like “I, a man only want to fuck women not date them” isn’t a sentiment that’s unburdened by misogyny.

you know that by defaulting the idea of being aromantic with people who exploit with casual sex is in fact stigmatising?

OP: isn’t it really gross how some people stigmatize aromanticism and equate it to “someone who fucks and doesn’t call back?”
Some asshole: um but aromantics ARE all guys who fuck girls and don’t call the next day

Did her point need to be proved more?

Anti-aro rhetoric is very similar to biphobic rhetoric. Bi people are often made out to be unfeeling and just in it for the sex. In biphobia itself you find arophobia. So saying aro het men are the only ones demonised for it is ridiculous.

By the way, I have yet to come across any heterosexual person who also identifies as aromantic; the sexist het aro man is a bogeyman.

Considering the similarities between aphobia and biphobia and the antagonism against multisexuals often present in REG circles, I do wonder if what is really meant by “het aro men” isn’t “multisexual aro men we don’t consider gay enough.”
