Alt-right folks love to pretend that they are this super successful mass movement, because they know that the type of white frustrated racist man that they try to recruit loves a winning team.
They don’t want you to know that a lot of the fascist groups out there are something like seven frustrated dudes, a bunch of stickers and a badly constructed website, who are constantly in a shouting match with seven other dudes that from this other fascist group in a nearby city.
(Don’t get me wrong, fascism should be crushed all the time and every time and there are very real fascists holding very real political power today and that’s scary. But your local seven nazis and a computer are trying to ride on that success by pretending to be something much bigger than they are.)
