A majority female, majority immigrant and majority LGBTQIA (yes, really) political party led by a woman of Surinamese heritage is shaking up the white male world of Dutch politics with an intersectional approach to oppression and a clear left-wing economic approach. While the party is unlikely to win a lot of power during the general elections this week, they are raising the bar of representation and intersectionality for the progressive left.

Yes, it is. Her name has pretty much dominated media coverage of her party here to the point where it is used as synonymous with the party (which does not do justice to the other awesome people in there) so I didn’t really notice that her name was missing from the title and description this time.
