Make no mistake, AirBnB is evil.
It is very little ‘cute family makes some cash on an extra bedroom’ and much much more ‘rich landlords drive out the residents of entire neighbourhoods to turn their apartments into illegal hotels that ignore all regulations that apply to the usual hotel business’.
And the company AirBnB is deliberately feeding that by not releasing information that would allow governments to combat abuse of AirBnB.
Like most parts of the ‘share economy’ where people make money by ‘sharing’ what they own, airbnb mostly serves the very rich at the expense of everyone else. It’s just another form of neoliberal bullshit. Fuck AirBnB.

(And yeah, I know there is no ethical consumption under capitalism but 90% of the time hostels are cheaper than AirBnB and coachsurfing still exists. If you want to avoid AirBnB but travel on a budget, you probably can.)
How you gonna call yourself an anarchist while whining that AirBnB is “evil” because it won’t surrender all of it’s information to the government so they can “combat abuse” of a completely open and voluntary system.
It boggles the fucking mind.
Another person who has never bothered to learn shit about anarchism. Okay, one more time: Most anarchists think some level of rules on shitty things are a relatively good thing UNTIL those shitty things can be abolished.
So anarchists are happy about the existence minimum wage but would rather abolish all jobs. Anarchists are happy about environmental regulations on big industry but would rather abolish big industry. Anarchists are happy about rules that stop the rich from turning working class neighbourhoods into tourist venues, but would rather abolish the rich. Most anarchists would confirm that until we can get rid of capitalism all together, all regulation that curtails the destruction capitalism causes is basically a good thing.
Anarchists are not gonna support abolishing minimum wage unless jobs get abolished too. Anarchists are not gonna support abolishing housing regulations unless the rich get abolished too. Hope that clears this up.
You don’t support abolishing the state, you’re not an anarchist. “Anarchists are happy about <part of the government> existing” just proves everything I’ve been saying about your lot, you give anarchy a bad name.
Jesus fucking I’m not an anarchist and that was difficult to read.
I think some anarchists like @queeranarchism are only anarchists to solve the moral failings of their philosophy in practice. In other words they are democrats larping as a anarchist. And I think we know which one they prefer. Also “abolishing jobs” are you high? How do you in an anarchy abolish anything first of and second how do you outlaw labor?
You guys are really boring and purposely ignoring what I wrote.
Obviously I wanna abolish the state. But just abolishing all the rules that currently restrict the rich without abolishing the power of the rich would put us in a worse condition that we already are and would bring us further away from abolishing the state entirely, not closer.
I’ve never met a single real anarchist (not ancaps, those are not anarchists) who would support abolishing only the minimum wage while keeping all other circumstances of wage labor in tact. Absolutely zero anarchists want that because all that would do is
immediately
hurt workers. And funnily enough, anarchists too like people to be alive and not starving. It’s really hard to smash the state when you’re starving.
& Obviously I wanna abolish jobs. That’s like partt of anarchism 101. Go read The Abolition of Work
