le pen doesn’t actually need to win, of course. not that it’s out of the question but the far right don’t need to win elections because the centrist parties will adopt their policies and language. that’s how they make their real gains. look at  theresa may in the uk who now sounds no different than nigel farage. 

For further proof: The Netherlands. The ‘moderate’ right wing uses the scare of fascism and the need to ‘win over votes’ to justify making far right racist policies their own, then it feigns surprise when the far right gets even more popular.
