Terrible ideologies are not caused by ~low intelligence~, they are caused by political and economic interests, be they real or perceived. When white poor people are racist it isn’t because they aren’t what we perceive as sophisticated or intelligent (one only need to look at the old race “scientists” to see it has nothing to do with education), it’s because they believe they have more to gain from white supremacist collaboration with “their own” imperialist, colonist bourgeoisie, than they would gain from solidarity with the oppressed nations of the US and a united fight against the common enemy that is US imperialism.

And I don’t say this to defend working class whites who betray their own class by voting for Trump. They are traitors, white supremacists and nothing less. I say it because to blame white supremacy on intelligence is nothing short of ableism. It paints disabled people and mentally ill people as the real problem, the real enemy.
