‘People get the rulers they deserve’ is probably the biggest case if victim blaiming ever. It is never going to be true, no matter whether you are blaming the German people for Hitler or the Russians for Putin.
Many of us have never been represented by someone we voted for. Many of us have never been able to vote for someone who actually had ideas we supported. Many have never wanted to see our own ability to shape society reduced to a name on a piece of paper every 4 years. Many of us have never wanted rulers.
Historically, electoral politics was designed to share power between the old wealth of nobility and the new wealth of the middle class, while pacificying the people. It was never designed to empower the people. It is failing many us now because it was always designed to do so.
You keep telling us that we should just play our ballot cards differently when this game was rigged against us to begin with. You keep blaiming us because you want to hide the violence that is used to stop us from changing the rules of the game.
