yeah the afab non binary trans mascs wear make up all the time. didnt you get the memo that makeup ≠ gender?
There’s several things going on here:
The most obvious being the invalidation of gender identity. The emotional struggles, searches within ourselves and in society, second guessing, and finally celebration of who we are as non binary people, all of that gets reduced to “lol, so you wanna wear make up”, which is bullshit.
I could explain at length that trans femme identity has nothing to do with wearing make up, I could point at blogs, I could recount the struggles. But really, all that is out there and easy to find. The only way you can think that nonbinary trans identity is about wearing make up is by actively trying not to see our stories. Since OP runs a blog with terf stuff in their description and the first 10 posts are like 50% terf stuff, yeah… they’re probably not gonna listen to it anyway.
The second thing going on in this post the presentation of one small freedom of wearing make up as a reason not to have the big freedom of being whoever the fuck you want. Creating a little bit of freedom of gender representation and then riggedly holding up gender identities as solid inherent things. “You can do this, so you can’t do this!”, “Society broke this small chain in your prison so now your feet can move a little but don’t you dare break another chain yourself. Don’t even consider breaking out of the whole prison.”
This is one of the things I mean when I say terf rethoric turns people into conservatives upholding traditional notions of gender.
