Cisgender LGB people: I see a lot of you speaking about ‘the cishets’ with some kind of bitter taste behind it but never acknowledging your own cisgender privilege and how much transphobia there is in the LGBT community and I want you to know that you’re not fooling anyone.
#lmao they love that word bc they hate being called cis#if cis was being popularised rn there’d be huge blowback ab ‘being lumped in with our oppressors’ for that too#probably will be one day
yeeeeeees. If I was half as bitter refering to the cis as they are about ‘the cishets’ they’d be screaming in my face about how unfair I’m being. They wanna make fun of privilege but can’t handle being at the receiving end or examining their own privilege.
I was here when cis was being popularized and there ABSOLUTELY was a blowback abt “being lumped in with our oppressors”. Not a fan of the current regressive trend of “we never have to think critically about our own cis privilege bc the community is a United Front and it’s only the evil cishet oppressors we have to worry about” that’s been going on recently. From how badly it’s been misused by cis people and the lines of thought that have been supported by that misuse, by this point I wish “cishet” had never been popularized, tbh.
