Even if you don’t understand French, please try to sign this petition: a French bank (BNP Paribas) is accused of complicity in the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. The bank is said to have transferred $1.3 million to Rwanda that was used to purchase weapons in violation of a UN arms embargo. The bank couldn’t ignore that the funds would contribute to the ongoing genocide. The petition aims for clarity on that matter and for better regulation of financial operators by the government in order to hold them accountable for violating human rights.

Reblog please!!

For non-French-speakers, such as myself, the lines you need to fill in to sign are:

  • Firstname Lastname
  • Email Address
  • Postal/Zip Code
  • Country (a drop-down menu, “États-Unis” is United States, or you can use Google translate or another online translator to find yours)
  • Then it asks you to share on social media, Yes/No, then it asks for a donation at which point I closed the page cuz I don’t have that kinda money tbf

I never donate to a website like that, it’s shady as fuck. For people who do have the money: Just donate to the original organization working on the petition. They can spend it on far better things than an overcharged petition-boost.
