The idea that to be beautiful means to be good and to be disfigured means to be evil is not new. It’s a really tired, unoriginal trend in the movie industry, and only perpetuates damaging beliefs about individuals with facial differences.

Okay, I’m sorry but no. This is so misinterpreted……All of these “disfigured” villains became disfigured due to their evilness not the other way around, if any attention was paid to the history of the character this would be so obvious

It is both sad and funny that you think that’s any better. Disability as a punishment for evil is just as bad as becoming evil because of a disability. Both narratives frame disability as something innately negative. Disability, even when bad people are or become disabled, is never a punishment. I for one am sick of only seeing disabled representation when it is framed as a negative. Give facial deformities to more heros, love interests and plucky side kicks, not just to bitter misanthropes out to destroy the world.
