ok but imagine being like 13-14 on this site and trying to figure out your sexuality/gender identity
when you fuckin people have 6 million microsexualities that are just “internalised homophobia” and demonise the idea of Maybe Just Being Gay becuase it’s not ~ radical ~ enough and the ace community pushing the Never Question Why You’re Afraid To Have Sex And Love, You’re Just Ace! narrative at, say, dysphoric trans people or gay/bi people with internalised homophobia or even just. people who are like 13 and dont have sexual thoughts yet because that’s! normal!

Let’s maybe encourage self-reflection and critical thinking about one’s identity WITHOUT bitching about the existence of ace people?

Not to mention I wish people would realize that your identity doesn’t have to be a life sentence? And…seriously, having MORE words for how to describe your identity isn’t an inherently bad thing, those words came about FOR A REASON.

I really don’t get this new vehement need to tear down asexual folks just to highlight how messy identity politics is.

Make your damn point without using other marginalized folks as scapegoats.

Identity politics has it’s problems but these are not it.

More identity words is not internalised homophobia and no one is demonizing ‘just being gay’. If that’s what having more words around feels like to OP maybe they’re a self obsessed shit who can’t stand that not every damn thing is about them.
