meanwhile the cost for gender reassignment surgery ranges from $5,000-$50,000

who in their fucking right mind would rather keep paying taxes for an inefficient, broken, useless weapon of war that costs more than the GDP of Russia and will be used to murder people in distant, harmless countries than a simple, relatively dirt-cheap operation to make the few people in the military that are trans feel comfortable with themselves

the average cost for gender reassignment surgery is $25,000, including the HRT they need. The amount of trans people in the entire US armed forces is approximately 11,000. To give all these people the surgery they need, the total cost is around $275,000,000. Keep in mind the US military budget, EXCLUDING the black budget which is estimated to be around 52 billion, is
$824.7 billion. Giving all trans soldiers the surgery they need is literally NOTHING in our budget
