ANTI-FASCIST ZINE SEEKING CONTRIBUTORS!

CARTOON PUNK is looking for artists, illustrators, writers, researchers, and anyone else who’d like to speak up in opposition to the repulsive backwash of fascism seeking its revival in the 21st century. Curation, editing, and design will be done by @buttart, @mortalityplays, and @gchoule, all comic artists and proud members of @countershotpress!

CARTOON PUNK is open to pitches/submissions from anyone and everyone, and will be curated with the goal of producing a high quality digital and printed zine for online sale. All profits from the zine will go directly to an appropriate charity, yet to be decided, with a goal to aid those most affected by hate crimes or to provide legal aid to activists and civilians wrongly imprisoned.

A NOTE ABOUT CONTENT: We are not looking for the same recycled imagery of nazis being punched or Trump looking foolish, but for more personal artwork, reflections, or experiences of how fascism/racism/anti-semitism/homophobia affects our everyday lives. We want art that humanizes us in the face of an enemy that paints us as sub-human, violent animals. We want art from the people who are most deeply endangered by fascism, as well as from those of us in more privileged places that struggle with how best to help.

We will accept submissions of completed work, or pitches for original pieces produced for CARTOON PUNK. To send us a pitch, email cartoonpunkaaf@gmail.com with a brief description of what you would like to produce, a page length estimate (try to keep it under four!), and some samples or links to your previous work.
