My effort to make my blog less US-centric has utterly failed, mostly because of the whole ‘fascist POTUS and massive campaign of lies against Antifa’ thing and such.
So if you wanna submit cool stuff from Not-the-US, please do. Protest announcements, actions, shit we should be caring about. Bring it on.
What I’m not very excited about are:
- Long lists of things that are horrible with no articles about the resistance being organized against it suggestions for resistance.
- Posts with ‘you should write about this’. If you care about a thing, please send me some good stuff to reblog or prepare a post of your own, I really can’t become an expert on big social issues in one afternoon.
- Posts about how horrible a famous person or Tumblr user is.
- Petitions, go fund me’s, crowdfundig for good causes etc. See: Crowdfunding our survival.
- Articles and photographs where activists faces are shown or names mentioned in situations in which they should not be identified.
- Art and poster campaigns focussed on ‘humanizing’ a minority in the eyes of the majority. I am tired of displaying our lives and loves and vulnerability in the desperate hope that those in power might start to realize that we are real. I would rather fight back.
What I am very excited about are:
- Good articles about how badly NATO and US/EU fucked up Libya in 2011, how badly that destabilized the region and how many current refugees are the result of that interventionist crap.
- Posters, patches, banners etc. This blog is kinda text-heavy right now.
- Pictures of black blockers hugging puppies, kittens snoozing on piles of anarchist posters, crochets of burning cop cars, other cute shit that cheers me up a bit when we have to keep fighting.
- Your favourite Chelsea Manning tweets. She lights up my days.
