And let’s be honest: the origins of “tumblr is toxic and warps your mind” discourse were born from early reactionary circles, where “toxic” means “there are consequences to your actions” and “warps your mind” means “your political leanings stop being right-wing”. 

If you want to criticize guilt-based identity politics, or anti-recovery culture, or anything like that, grow a pair and criticize the specific problem instead of setting off people’s “ooh tumblr bad” circuits and calling it a day. None of the “tumblr problems” I’ve seen were created on tumblr, or even exclusive to tumblr. Politics exist in real life, believe it or not.
