im not sure ppl understand this but like.. i don’t think anyone is saying that you have to like porn or think its a good thing or think the sex industry is ~empowering~ or some shit, the problem sex workers have with swerfs is that they keep lobbying to criminalise our work which puts us in danger and forcing sex working women in exploited nations into low-paid garment manufacturing that’s akin to sweatshops. you can think whatever you like about the relationship the sex industry has to patriarchy, it’s the actions of anti sex worker feminists that sex workers have a problem with.

It really doesn’t matter whether you think sex work is ‘empowering’ or oppression or just a job or a complex spectrum of possible situations. That entire conversation is not relevant.
What matters is: are you going to illegalize sex workers so they have less power over their lives or are you going to help sex workers get workers rights and unions and basic income and housing and legal aid and std testing and health care so they have more power over their lives?
