I feel like this is a very important thread considering a lot of people cut Hollywood abusers a lot of slack just because “they’re work is very good and entertaining”. There are plenty of other Hollywood actresses/actors that don’t pull off gross shit like this, support them instead…. At the end of the day, we need to put the victims first and stop letting this shit slide.

Where people have a LOT of money and power, rapists and abusers thrive.
Men.
The majority of these fuckers are men and that absolutely needs to be adressed. We need to talk about how much more power famous men and ESPECIALLY famous WHITE men have to abuse and rape without any consequences for their career, while women can have their career ruined for seeming ‘bitchy’ once. We need to talk about how men are protected by colleagues, producers and fans. Sexism and rape culture are best buddies and we need to be very vocal about that.
We ALSO need to address that women can be abusers and rapists and that where people have a LOT of money and power, rapists and abusers thrive. We put people in danger when we ignore that. When being raped by a woman is seen as something that doesn’t happen, victims have a very hard time coming forward. It is no coincidence that the cases we know of are cases where the rapist herself talked about what she had done and the audience went … ‘uuhm no, that sounds like rape’.
The twitter thread goes into that somewhat.
