It’s interesting to see people assert Black Bloc is all white guys when 1) I’ve seen some people who seem to be women in bloc pictures but it’s intentionally hard to tell and 2) people of color participating in a bloc would have incentive to cover every square inch of skin while white people are probably more comfortable letting their neck show

People who say this shit about people they can not identify are literally demonstrating they perceive white men as the default humans and will assume anyone to be a white man unless they see evidence to the contrary. .
Related to this is when people say stuff about Black Bloc like ‘they’re only against things, never for anything’, ‘they’re not from here and they won’t be here tomorrow to build something constructive’, ‘they don’t do any of the boring work to fight racism/sexism/homofobia, they’re just here to riot’, or any other ‘why don’t they care about … instead’?
People who say this ignore that the people in Black Bloc are hiding their identities and as such also choose not to give you and the authorities insight into their full activist resume. Every single person I’ve ever met who used Black Bloc as a tactic also put a lot of hours into other forms of activism to fight many forms of oppression, but I can’t give you a single example of it because the whole point of Black Bloc is hiding someones identity.
