Alienating

When people tell you not to be ‘too angry’ in your activism so as not to ‘alienate’ potential allies, they are treating the privileged experience as universal. The truth is that for every privileged person alienated by anger, there is an oppressed person alienated by an endless willingness of activists to be polite to the people who are hurting them.
