The point of getting conservatives into these otherwise ineffectual protests is to rally them. To give them something to do so they feel more invested in the “culture war”.
So get a barista to yell “Robert E. Lee”. Smash your Keurig. Sign a petition to label AntiFA a terrorist organization. Have a little battle with the “forces of evil” and relish in that small sense of power and achievement it gets you.
And with time you become more and more invested in hating all the same people fascists do.
It also helps maintain the illusion of being the rebel, fighting against the power when the truth is anyone with institutional, economic or state power is supporting all the same things you do.
