The need of identity politics to have clear easy answers for everything leaves very little space for non-binary experiences.
For example, sometimes a non-binary experience of transmisogyny in public may boil down to “if your body (‘amab’ or not) is perceived (accurately or not) as primarily testosterone based and you gender is perceived (accurately or not) as primarily femine than you will be read (accurately or not) as a trans woman and you may suddenly be the target of intense violence because of it. ”
And I feel like a lot of people aren’t ready for that kind if situational complexity. A lot of people just wanna know what your privileges are and be done with it.
