Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator banned in Chicago for ridiculing Hitler. 
Newsreels banned in Kansas and Ohio for showing the plight of working people.

I was recently working on a video project that had me looking through old newsreel footage of the KKK from the 30s. I found American and Soviet sources. The Soviet reels showed them in full Klan regalia, hoods, rallied around a burning cross.

The American sources showed them in suits and ties, discussing their cause with authorities.
