Under Authoritarian Christianity, a strict moral code of purity rules and lust is the ultimate sin. And after a hundred years of pushback, many of us are still struggling to find comfort and joy in our desires.
Under Capitalism, a strict moral code of productivity and consumption rules, desire is welcomed as long as it can be commodified but laziness is the ultimate sin.
And when I see how we as activists struggle to ‘do enough’,to be the best activists we can, I feel like the struggle to find comfort and joy in our laziness has yet to begin.
