Time to be selfish for a day and write a post entirely about ME, or more to the point: what I like on Tumblr and what I don’t. So ya’ll know why I unfollowed you or that I might like to follow you. An incomplete list.
“Why did queeranarchism unfollow me?” some likely reasons:
Just plain wrong:
- Racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, aphobia, ableism, antisemitism, defending cops, defending the state, etc. (obvious, right?)
- Angry rants about bad vegans written by non-vegans
- Vague ‘all kinks are bad’ posts
- Idealisation of BDSM as more consent-aware than the rest of the world.
- Aggressively unnuanced posts condemning all age differences or arguing against sex education in the name of ‘protecting tah children’.
- ‘Call your senator!’ posts
- Gif sets of cop shows
- Idealisation of strength, machismo in activism
You’re not all that wrong, just very likely to irritate me: (no hard feelings, It’s just a matter of taste)
- Arguing/trolling with people that I don’t wanna see on my dash. You
can debate or troll that white supremacist all you want and I wish you
well, I just don’t wanna see any of it. -
Photosets of ‘white dress in a rose garden’ same-sex marriages. We get
it. Your idea of LGBT perfection is to be as close to heteronormativity
as possible. I could not feel more alienated. - Obsessing over
celebrities in your social justice posts. I understand that getting that
racist out of a famous movie matters somewhat but it bores the shit out
of me. - Reblogging a lot of ‘crowdfund my survival’ posts (see: http://queeranarchism.tumblr.com/post/162387335443/crowd-funding-our-survival)
- Vague ‘…. are wonderful and valid’ and ‘protect ….’ posts. Blah, I just don’t like ‘em. So boring.
- Nothing but depressing posts about how bad things are, without positive posts about how we fight back. If you wanna lose all hope online, go ahead, I’m just not joining you.
- US-centrism
-
Lots of movie/series/books fan posts about a show I’m not interested in. You can
love a show, that’s fine. But if you will up my dash with it I might not follow you, no hard feelings.
“Why did queeranarchism follow me?” some likely reasons:
- Intersectionality
- Anarchism
- Queerness
- Community care
- HOPE
- Kindness to comrades you disagree with, rage towards actual enemies
- Use of the word ‘comrade’
- Glitter
- Love of imperfection
Do you know someone who I should follow? Think I should follow you? Let me know!
