The art of queer failure
Sometimes becoming more of ourselves means letting go of things that the world sees as ‘success’. We lose careers, relationships or we transition away from what society views as beautiful. Sometimes this is the result of injustice, at other times we ourselves quit our jobs or end relationships because we realise the things we did for success were not making us happy. Is becoming successful under a new name our goal? Or do we work to shape less successful but happier lives?

On to a new identity
Identities can provide stability and safety in our lives. It’s great to have a word that explains who we are, and a stable idea of what we are. But when our reality changes and we try to continue to fit ourselves into identities that no longer quite fit us, identities limit us from becoming the person we’re meant to be next. How does it feel to let go of an identity that once felt right and to move on to the next one?

Trans & Sexual
Sexuality and gender are different things, but when they meet they can often make up doubt ourselves. Is our gender less real if we feel sexier in a differet gender expression? Or if we relate to our gender differently in the presence of our partner? Or when watching the changes in our body turn us on? Of course not! Our sexual feelings are a path to pleasure, not a test of our identity. There are no exams to who we are, only free-form playspace.
