Afrin: a region completely controlled by Kurds ever since the YPG and SDF there took over when the Syrian Arab Army retracted at the onset of civil war with absolutely no Islamic State presence

Reuters publishing a blatant lie to soften the blow of the outrageously named “Operation Olive Branch” Turkish assault on Kurdish land in Syria: priceless

I keep forgetting to post Syrian civil war stuff.. i need to make a huge master post since last i really posted was in regards to the expulsion of ISIS in eastern syria.. alot has changed since..

Turkey – a country ruled by a fascist regime which for years has colluded and supported Daesh, and which for years has attempted to commit genocide against the Kurds, are now claiming they’ve killed Daesh fighters in a region that’s been under the exclusive control of the YPG for years now.  

Don’t believe them for a second.  Call your elected representative today and demand they pressure Turkey to immediately withdraw from Afrin.  

Or:

• reach out to their local Kurdish community to see if they’re planning a protest and need help
• trash the nearest Turkish embassy
• Spraypaint the biggest fucking message on a wall near the Turkish embassy

• raise money for Kurdish struggles
• invite a Kurdish activist to speak about their struggles in your nearest community center / cafe / bar / school etc
• distribute posters/flyer/stickers
• heck, even write a protest song
• etc etc 

There’s so much more we can do then beg our local politician to call a Turkish politician to beg them to change their behavior… defaulting to electoral politics is a waste of time.
