Liberals act like if you add women and people of color and LGBT people to the police they cops will automatically become nicer? When, from observation, I’d say that what you end up with is a bunch of extra cops performing hyperaggressiveness to ‘prove themselves’ and integrate into a highly oppressive system and being as bad or worse as the other cops. And the rare exception that does try to change the system gets worked out. So I don’t feel safer when interacting with a gay cop, I feel less safe because I know he’s likely to treat me worse to prove he’s as tough as the straight cops. So yeah, ACAB.
