he is working on many, many laws concerning the youth, especially the education system, all while not spending a dime on unis and schools and giving it all to the military
he is trying to make out generation more class divided, more obediant, more trusting of the govt.
a small “top of my head” list about his measures for young people :
- make it easier for colleges/unis/… to discriminate against students from a poor background, both from checking the academic level of their high school and by asking questions like “do you volunteer or take extra classes in your free time ?” which of course poor students who have to work cant do
- in france, we have the “baccalauréat”. it’s an exam everyone pass at the end of high school and the diploma gives you access to a higher education. it’s the same for everyone in france, but macron wants to make it different for every school BUT ALSO to give it a different value according to which school you go to – so a baccalauréat from a school in a rich white neighbouhood will be worth more than one from a poor brown/black part of the city.
- in france, students are divided in groups who have all their classes together ( biology, art, english, you name it we’re together, we’re a team ) not only is that great bc you have people you can rely to if you have troubles at school, it also allows students to talk together to the teachers when they have an issue. macron wants to delete this system and instead use the american one
- force students to determine what fields they want to specialise in at fourteen. FOURTEEN.
- make it harder to obtain a spot in college. that one dont require much explaination
- and this shit with the military
honestly, screw him. no wonder he complains about young people hating him. he wants a hyperliberal economy with an authoritarian politic ? all hes going to get is a new student riot ( search mai 69 if you want to know more about the time french students collectively said “fuck it” and went to throw stones at the conservative govt )
