People talk about how there are different axis of oppression but then want all cis people or all white people or all men to go to the front of the line when there’s police violence, as if one privileged identity means you can not have other identities as well as traumas. Don’t do that shit. My baseline way of dealing with other humans is assuming that they’ve probably got baggage and there’s a pretty big chance they’re oppressed on at least one axis and I can’t always see it, so when it’s time for the ones that can take the strain to get to the front of the line, I’ll leave it to them to decide where they belong.
