This is a pretty big issue in social justice communities too, where it’s most about: let people make mistakes, let people grow, let people move on from that time they had a bad mental health episodes where they are horrible to other people, stop asking people to expain that one problematic tweet from 3 years ago. Spend energy on your community. Kicking people out of a community and no-platforming are last ditch measures to be used when all other ways of fixing things together have failed. Try to avoid them as much as you can.
