Hey uh, are you sure that’s what this means? When I first saw this, I got very strong “handi-capable” vibes(ew), and the “A” I am pretty sure is supposed to be like the Scarlet Letter A? Like, representing stigma?
I think you all are praising something Very Gross. But I could be wrong
I don’t understand that reference but I have since been in contact with the activist that made this sticker and I know he’s an anarchist who meant this to be an anarchist ‘A’ and who chose the term ‘I’m capable’ to reject the paternalist assumption that his disability makes him incapable of a lot of things that he can easily do or that he is constantly in need of pampering and protection. This is an awesome activist who has participated in a lot of actions that most people would be afraid to stand near, yet the moment he uses a wheelchair people assume that he needs constant protection.
