Not knowing how to efficiently navigate life under capitalism does not make you a less mature or capable adult. I think we often chalk the unfortunate financial situations we’re placed in up to “adulting” and that creates a type of complacency that allows us to be taken advantage of while simultaneously placing blame upon ourselves.

The term adulting is 100% bourgeouis semantics made to promote the idea that the artificial problems created by capitalism are part of a world young adults don’t understand yet and that they can’t change. Having to pay bills and worrying about money is not growing up, this is just what the capitalist class tells you to monger more fear to cement the status quo. You are not your work and you are certainly more of an adult than anyone who thinks that being mature means shutting your mouth and not saying anything when faced with inward pressure from capitalist society.
