Getting real sick of tankies taking shit out of context to slander people they disagree with for other reasons. Just say you don’t like anarchism and stop trying to paint people as bigots cause you can’t win an argument without lying.

That time the tanks all tried to say @terminalpolitics was a reactionary anti-intellectual because they said you don’t need to read to be a communist. Tanks eventually played it up so much that they were reduced to this book-burning caricature.
Or how tanks keep trying to say @queeranarchism is a pedophile apologist because they are working on transformative justice solutions to try to prevent pedophiles from offending in the first place rather than calling for punitive measures that would only encourage pedophiles to hide.
Or the various times I’ve been branded racist for what essentially boils down to “arguing with and blocking tankies.”
Tanks know that people would rather block someone to be safe than risk facing social sanction themselves and they use this to suppress people who haven’t done anything worth being ostracized for.
I’ve been facing so much surpression and social sanctions in my life than there isn’t many things I’m afraid of right now, except maybe being wrong.
Some authoritarian people are ready to do anything to silence you. Even lying like a politician and profiling you as a monster out of fucking nothing.

& yeah the “people would rather block someone to be safe than risk facing social sanction themselves” is veeeeery true. It’s how silencing works a lot of the time.
I’ve never noticed a strong overlap between tankies and the people who give me shit but then, I have blocked most of them without looking deeply into their politics. Are they mostly tankies? If so: interesting! Worth investigating….
Suddenly everything that has confused me about leftblr is explained: the anti-sex positivity people are all SWERFS/TERFS/RADFEMS, and the people who intersect with them who think KILLING every person with ‘dangerous’ or intrusive thoughts or bad politics sounds great are fucking Tankies.
Yeah, like, I’m still examining this claim with some scepticism because I don’t see explicit tankie stuff on the blogs that have been giving me a bad time, but if you claim to be a ‘radical’ left-wing activist AND you ‘re a big fan of punishment as a means of social control you clearly at the very least lean towards the more authoritive side of the radical left. Where, ya know, there be tankies.
