Not to be an old fart or anything but one thing that is really frustrating is the amount of people – of all ages – that are new to activism, maybe attending their 2nd or 3rd protest with no experience in direct action, who have spend some time in online social justice and now think that their identity gives them wisdom about how to do activism. People who think that experienced organizers with some amount of privilege must be wrong because why else would they ever disagree with a more oppressed person? Sorry, not how that works. Actually experiencing a form of oppression gives you some knowledge about how that oppression feels and how that oppression works but it’s no substitute for experience in how to do effective activism.
