By limiting criticism of Israel, Theresa May’s new definition of anti-Semitism will do more harm than good

Be very very careful if you see any organisation waving around the IHRA-definition of anti-semitism, which – when signed into law as in the UK – criminalizes
legitimate criticism of the State of Israel.

Many Jewish organisations that are critical of the State of Israel have already pointed out how dangerous it is that the
IHRA-definition warps understanding of what actual anti-semitism looks like and have pointed to many far more accurate definitions that are already out there.

That right wing states are adopting the

IHRA-definition

comes as no surprise. But the

IHRA-definition

keeps popping up in ‘manifestos against racism and anti-semitism’ signed by anti-racist organisations who do not know what they’re really agreeing too. So, ya know, inform yourself on this shitty shitty thing.
