There’s “sharing stories about the crimes of the system to expose why things can’t be reformed and why there is an urgent need for fundamental change”
And then there’s “ONLY sharing stories about the crimes of the system endlessly while not showing all the ways in which we resist, to the point where the system seems all-powerful and our resistance becomes difficult to imagine”
And the latter is like group political depression-blogging that may serve some function as a coping mechanism but mostly just drags us down deeper into despair.
The truth is the systems we face are not all-powerful and people succesfully resist them every day, but they would certainly like us to believe that they are all-powerful so we don’t even try. So yeah, celebrating our resistance is important.
@summersforecast: Tbh it’s hard to find sources that talk about what resisting individuals are doing so most of what I reblog is to point out systematic injustice. But there are so many people that don’t even believe in the unscrupulous behavior of our US government so my blog aims at perhaps swaying those ppl
I’ll see if I can put together a list of blogs, social media and websites to keep an eye on one of these days. For now, there’s ItsGoingDown.org, sub.media, antifainternational, anarchistnews.org, infoshop.org and maybe some of my followers know more?
