Terrance Mannery: hero
shit like this is why i’m sick of aces going to pride with flags and banners and horns and yelling “ace pride” (which let me tell you, nyc pride 2017 was a fucking doozy for that shit)
this doesn’t happen to you. it just fucking doesn’t. but when it happens to us, you pretend like you’re a victim too even though you could’ve used your privilege like terrance mannery did. mannery knew his place at pride. kept his distance, didn’t take up space, didn’t try to show how unhomophobic he was until he leapt into action and stopped what could have easily become an angry mob. he is a hero. you’re nothing but cultural parasites and wannabe victims.
apologies to the antifa who run this blog for injecting discourse they didn’t ask for onto this post, but as a trans lesbian who has to contend with being semi-closeted in a transphobic household, i cannot abide by it.
Here at antifainternational, some of us are transgender and bisexual (like the person writing this reply), some of us are gay or lesbian, some of us are none of those things. But regardless, as antifascists we stand in solidarity with all people who experience oppression.
That ABSOLUTELY includes asexual and aromantic people.
So we suggest you keep your aphobia off our posts. Using the pain people experience as a result of this event to push asexual people out of LGBTIA+ spaces is not what solidarity looks like.
Imagine being so vile that you use the fresh, probably still being replayed over and over again in the victim’s minds event in Utah and also the STRAIGHT BLACK MAN WHO STOOD UP and callously turning these things into a weapon against….Asexuals. And then to think you’re absolutely in the right and not doing anything wrong, at that. Never mind that there is zero correlation.
Feel free to trip and fall face first into dogshit, @cu-curu-gol
And I really hope it gets in your mouth.
S/O to @antifainternational for not putting up with this odious horseshit.
