But really also good questions to we asking about ALL prisons everywhere, with an extra focus on all companies directly responsible for the detention proces: the construction companies, the ones who make the surveillance technology, the ones who place the fences, provide the handcuffs, etc. And of course the companies profitting from prison labor.
These companies are willing participants in our oppression for profit and we can take that to the front door of their nearest office.
Does it matter? Plenty of companies that got rich by murdering millions in WWII and they’re still going and wrecking the environment now, so…
Companies that profitted from deportations and concentration camps in the past have faced almost no consequences.
Maybe that, ya know, sort of impacts the willingness of companies to profit today?
Maybe it’s about time we started adding consequences so they’ll think twice in the future? Preferably the very near future.
None of these systems function without the companies and individuals that accept complicity in these systems and the bystanders that let them.
The government can and will subsidize whatever it wants, making sure that you pay off the multibillion dollar

MVM Inc in Virginia
Contractors have advertised a flurry of jobs in recent weeks to support the infrastructure surrounding undocumented children whom the Trump administration has taken from their families.
One of them, from Virginia-based MVM Inc., seeks a compliance coordinatorto help in San Antonio with the “rapid deployment of an Emergency Influx Shelter for unaccompanied children.” [..]
MVM bills itself as having “extensive domain expertise in counter-narcotics, criminal and civil investigations, public safety, and national security.” It’s perhaps better known as a security contractor for U.S. intelligence.
And then there’s General Dynamics
It’s not just MVM. The defense contracting giant General Dynamics is advertising a data-entry position within ORR’s case-coordination program for undocumented children that will, among other things, monitor youths’ casesas they move through the system.
Other General Dynamics jobs for ORR involve policy analysis; tracking “new placements and progress of minors in ORR funded care”; supporting ORR’s director in, among other tasks, “review[ing] files and redact[ing] information as directed.”
The link suggests writing them an angry letter and lists email adresses. I’ll leave alternatives to the imagination of my followers for now. MVM has offices in a looooot of states and countries and it’s not very hard to google the office closest to you, just saying.
