Wednesday June 20th, 2018. About 100 protestors occopied the fences and roofs of the refugee detention centre in Zaventem, Belgium, where a new ‘family centre’ is being constructed. Closed facilities such as this hold innocent people in isolated prisons far from the public view in Belgium.
The activists demanded open borders, legalisation of the 150.000 undocumented people currently in Belgium and a humane approach towards all migrants.
They spread themselves across fences and roofs and used lock-ons to attach themselves to facilities and to each other.
All activists and several reporters were arrested after the occupying the camp for several hours.
