On the day that Amsterdam Canal Pride claimed to celebrate ‘heroes of the LGBT community’, the police in collaboration with the city council and Pride organizers, harassed and beat LGBT activists from We Reclaim Our Pride who were calling for a Pride that truly centers marginalized people, not companies. The pathetic nature of the whole event was abundantly clear when the police arrested inflatable unicorns.
