WPATH is the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, and as such it plays an important part in the global discussion on how transgender people are to be understood and treated.
Dr. Baudewijntje Kreukels is the only nominee to the position of treasurer of WPATH, a powerful position in the organization. He is a supporter of the highly sexist and transphobic autogynephilia theory, a theory that is now actively used by transphobic activist around the world to invalidate and harass transgender people.
Please sign the petition and show WPATH that transgender people will not accept that this pseudo-scientific poison becomes part of transgender health care.

We have to show WPATH that selecting leaders who believe that transgender identities are caused by sexual perversions is not OK. All the procedural arguments aside, this is what this election is about.

You should sign this, but you should also be aware that transgender liberation cannot progress as long as organizations such as WPATH continue to place decision-making authority regarding transgender healthcare into the hands of cisgender providers. WPATH must be abolished and decision-making power regarding the healthcare of transgender individuals limited to members of the transgender population.
