not that we needed another reason to advocate for single stall gender-neutral bathrooms but

when I’m out in public with my residents, and only multiple-stall gendered bathrooms exist, i have to force them into a space where extra attention is drawn to the fact that they need assistance in the bathroom. I have to find workarounds for being discreet in a bathroom full of people, I have to choose a gendered bathroom that might be uncomfortable for both of us

Disabled people (including disabled trans people!) have a right to exist safely in public and have their right to privacy respected

When the elderly need help using the bathroom, the most logical person to provide that help is their spouse of many years, if they have one. But gendered bathrooms leave heterosexual couples in this situation with no choice that doesn’t require one of them to face social embarrassment and possibly to break the law.

Single stall no-gender bathrooms are better for everyone.
