Right now (15 August 2018) large police raids are taking place on train stations and inside trains, looking for refugees to detain and deport.
Police activity is especially strong around Brussels, Gent and other large cities.
If you are a refugee who could become a target: try to avoid trains and trainstations until the raids are over. Carry any documentation that could help you. Keep the number of your lawyer written on your body under your clothing, and on speed dial on your phone. Travel with Belgian allies if you can.
If you are an ally: use your privilege! Object. Argue. Disrupt. Delay. Make a scene. Get in the way.
Don’t just film or tweet or ‘raise awareness’ if you can do more. If you can survive being a massive pain in the ass to the police, now is the time to do so. If you can survive getting arrested, now is the time to push the limits. Avoiding a deportation literally saves lives.
If all you an do is film or tweet or blog, then do that. If you are not in Belgium but can reach people in belgium through your social media: share this message. Reblog. repost. spread.
Protect refugees. Resist deportations.
