Bi women can have just as much of a complicated relationship with their gender as lesbians. Bi women can use pronouns that aren’t exclusively she/her. Bi women can reject or screw with femininity. Bi nonbinary people can be part of bi woman communities. Bisexuality can cause a disconnect from womanhood. Bi women/aligned people don’t necessarily get Gender Unease Lite.
This is why I’m kinda uncomfortable with the idea that bi woman can’t/shouldn’t use butch or femme, they absolutely can have the same complicated relationships to gender expression butch or femme lesbians do
Butch/femme are lesbian specific because they’re identities based around solely being attracted to women and women-aligned people.
Bi women can have equally complicated relationships w their gender, but it’s not the same as how lesbians experience it (and no this doesn’t mean bi women’s experiences are less or a Lite version- just different)
That’s only your opinion, lol. Butch/femme don’t have official rulebooks.
And like, Bi women have been Butch for as long as the word Butch was a thing and long before the word Bisexual was a thing. .
Working class, POC, bi-inclusive women’s communities kept Butch alive when biphobic communities didn’t want butches.
