Anarchist comrades from all over Europe have come to the Hambach Forest to occupy in opposition to RWE, who wish to cut down the remainder of trees in the region, so they can mine coal.
Occupiers who are present in opposition to the RWE energy company are making a desperate call-out for all anarchists, anti-capitalists, anti-fascists, animal liberators, hunt sabs, and lovers of the planet to come and defend Hambach. With increased numbers and force present the tree-cutters can be significantly delayed and prevented from moving forward.
On the 21st/22nd there will be a court hearing for the eviction of the occupation, after this court hearing the eviction will begin and police will attempt to remove occupants from the area. With enough people present we can stop this from happening. An activist from the UK has said “The occupation is anarchist, hierarchies are almost completely destroyed and sexism and the patriarchy are at a minimum.”
This is about more than protecting the forest, or the various animals that make it their home, its about resisting capitalism as it tries to consume us all for profit. This is undoubtedly one of the most important fights in recent anarchist history. Protecting the environment against pure capitalist intentions.
We are not just asking for solidarity and support, we need action. We need more people to help resist the eviction and stop the advancement of RWE. The Hambach Forest blog provides a list of things you’d need if you wish to join in, and other groups like Unoffensive Animal have offered to help people upon arrival.
“The anarchist determination of the people is a heartwarming wave of reassurance that a different system is posible. The clamp of capitalism, meanwhile, squashes the dreams of freedom and self determination.” – Unoffensive Animal
The time is now! We need action more than anything else! If you cannot come and join us in Hambach, the please consider donating to the occupiers directly, or send them supplies from the list on the donation page, or through Unoffensive Animal who have traveled from the UK to help defend. But Hambi have said they have money, what they need is people. If you cannot donate or join the action then show your solidarity! Banner drops, art, messages of support from groups globally, this is a call to arms, and a call for solidarity.
Everyone repost!
