Reminder that we aren’t trying to discourage people from voting here. The bourgeois state and its institutions are illegitimate, but to act like marking a box on a piece of paper a couple times a year is an “endorsement” of that state and those systems is some magical-thinking bullshit.

So, go vote, by all means. It takes like five minutes.

What we very, very strongly do want to discourage people from is *only* voting. Saving every bit of your energy for polling day and throwing all your activism behind establishment fatcat politicians, well, that is *definitely* an endorsement of the same broken system that’s killing us, and not only is it unhelpful, it’s actively harmful.

By all means, go vote. But you’d better be ready to get out and build power and raise hell in the meantime.

If people watch the world falling apart around them, and they ask you, “What can we do?” and all you’ve got to say is “We can Pokemon Go to the polls and vote them out!”, you’ve fucked up. Polling day can be a long ways off; rent comes due on the 1st.
